The history of spaceflight is a dramatic one. It is not only a story about science and engineering, but also about politics and personalities. A limited set of events are well-known parts of the popular culture: Sputnik, John Glenn and Neil Armstrong. Possibly a few other people and events, depending on who you ask. But there are many more events and people—stories to fascinate, inspire and sometimes amuse. In this course, you will learn the basic outline of the development of space travel and learn some amazing stories to enjoy yourself and share with others.
